Remarkable by @LizzieKFoley

51VXIgc65RL._SY344_PJlook-inside-v2,TopRight,1,0_SH20_BO1,204,203,200_Remarkable is a truly wonderful story by debut author Lizzie K. Foley. The story takes place in a town called Remarkable because everyone in Remarkable has a remarkable talent. They are so remarkable, in fact, that they go by not one, but three names. All except for the main character, Jane, enough said. She is the only one, besides her grandfather, who is so very average that people always forget about her. Even her own family. On top of that, Jane is the only one to go to the public school in town. All the other students go to Remarkable’s School for the Remarkably Gifted. How’s that for feeling average.

This book is anything but average. There are pirates, a sea monster and loads and loads of jelly. Somehow, all these things come together for a remarkably fun story.

The pacing is perfection. There are many, quirky characters in the book with long names, but they have so much personality that they are easy for young readers to keep track of.

I highly recommend this terrific middle grade book. The cover art by Fernando Juarez also makes the book want to jump off the shelves right into the hands of girls 8 and up.
